Wipe Out

Late one night in the shop we were talking about creating an art bot for Ed Robinson's events in Las Vegas. Did I mention it was VERY late? The creation -- a lightweight robot that looks like a giant roll of toilet paper.
Once we were over our sleep-deprivation delirium, we settled on a lifter/flipper design. As Wipe Out's driver, Wendy's main design request was to include roll of toilet paper on the robot. Wipe Out was our first and only bot with internal wheels.

The original version of Wipe Out used Dustin motors for the drive. The second version (Wipe Out #2 on the left) was driven by more robust MagMotors. Both versions competed at the West Coast Robotics inaugural event, taking 1st and 2nd place in the field of ten lightweights.
