Matt & Wendy have been fighting combat robots since 2002. The team has fought more than 350 fights in 42 events with a 70% win percentage.
Matt has worked in construction, plumbing, printed circuit boards and hydraulics. He grew up on a farm, learning how mechanical things worked through hands-on experience.
Wendy is a number cruncher who loves building Excel spreadsheets. She has been working in accounting/finance for the broadcast industry for most of her career.
Pipe Wench - 120 pounds
Team PlumbCrazy's first and best-known robot was originally going to have a drum weapon. When BattleBots cancelled their November 2002 event, Matt put a wedge on the front so it could fight at RoboJoust in Las Vegas. Matt had so much fun driving Sewer Snake that he kept the wedge. Over time, Sewer Snake evolved into an animated, fire-breathing, break-dancing, red-tired beast that loved to put on a show. In 2019 Sewer Snake was inducted into the Combat Robot Hall of Fame.

With spare motors for Sewer Snake and an upcoming Steel Conflict competition that didn't take heavyweights, Matt decided to build a middleweight. Devil's Plunger had the drive power of his bigger brother with a floppy-nosed wedge that could get under most robots.

The only combat robot sporting a roll of toilet paper, Wipe Out was created to give Wendy the opportunity to drive in the arena. With a lifter on the front of Wipe Out, Wendy didn't have to worry about driving inverted. She was concerned about living up to the PlumbCrazy name, so Wendy spent a lot of time practicing. Wendy even beat Matt twice at the WCR Inagural Event - earning family bragging rights!
Lifetime record 60 wins/43 loses (72% win percentage)
Lightweight champion titles:
Robojoust VII 2004
WCR Inaugural Event 2004
War Bots Xtreme 2004
A drum bot was still in the back of Matt's mind, so he created Angry Asp. It didn't take long into his first fight with Angry Asp to decide he preferred to control opponent bots instead of destroying them. Angry Asp's best showing was 2nd place at the 2005 Nationals (driven by James Arluck since Matt was driving Devil's Plunger)
Lifetime record 11 wins/9 loses (55% win percentage)
Late one night in the TPC workshop, things got a little freaky between Devil's Plunger and Wipe Out, and Pipe Wench was conceived. Driven by Wendy (who gets discombobulated driving upside down) Pipe Wench has the mobility of Devil's Plunger with the self-righting capability of Wipe Out. The self-righting mechanism has the added bonus of being about to throw opponents out of the arena! While Pipe Wench didn't fare well at her first RoboGames in 2006, she came back stronger and wiser in 2007 to take the silver medal!
Lifetime record 20 wins/10 loses (67% win percentage)
Middleweight champion title:
Combots Texas Cup
Stinger: The Killer Bee was created to fight at BattleBots events, including a 2009 untelevised event at Mare Island 2009 and the ABC series in 2015 and 2016. With the same powerful drivetrain as Sewer Snake, a modular lifting system and dual flame effects, Stinger put on a good show fighting Battlebots legends Captain Shrederator, Bronco, Warhead, Nightmare and MegaTento.
Lifetime record 6 wins/5 loses (55% win percentage)
